Greenhouse Team Member (General Labor)

We are NOT activy hiring for this position.  We will post an updadte here the next time we are in need of more Greenhouse Team Members.  However, if you would like to submit an application for us to keep on file until the next time we are hiring you may complete one below. Greenhouse Team Members usually help by:

  • Transplanting new plants
  • Propagating plant stock
  • Seeding
  • Watering
  • Pruning
  • Weeding
  • Washing equipment
  • Cleaning the greenhouse
  • Moving plants around the greenhouse
  • Pulling product to fulfill orders
  • Other horticultural growing related tasks

Starting at $14.00 an hour. 

 

Delivery Driver- Ground Maintenance- Fulfillment

We are seeking a dependable team member to join our driver, ground maintenance, and fulfillment crews. This role supports the delivery of our premium live goods and topiaries to the Chicagoland, Detroit, Ohio, Grand Rapids, and South Bend areas while working on our ground maintenance and fulfillment crews to round out this 40 hour work week position.

Delivery Schedule:

  • Driving is seasonal: 1–2 times per week from February through September, and 1–2 times every other week from October through January.
  • Shift lengths vary based on weekly orders, typically 6–10 hours. During our busy spring season, some shifts may extend up to 12 hours, though this is uncommon.
  • Deliveries are made using a 16’ box truck or a Sprinter van, so comfort with driving in heavy traffic is required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • During non-delivery days, responsibilities vary by season:
  • Spring and Summer: Support the farm grounds crew with tasks such as mowing with small tractors and zero-turn mowers, weed control, and general maintenance.
  • Fall and Winter: Assist the fulfillment team with packing orders, inventory management, and greenhouse support as needed.

$16.00/hour and up.

 

GH Irrigator/Waterer

Old World Gardens is looking for a reliable worker to assist with daily watering needs, occasional spraying, and other horticultural growing related tasks. This position frequently requires the expenditure of physical labor and the use of motorized equipment and other tools.

On average this is a 40 hour per week position. Weekend work hours are required for this position. Applicant must be available to work 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Wednesday through Sunday or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Saturday through Wednesday.

This position requires training followed by independent work.

$15.50/hour and up.
