Coleus
A tender perennial known for its brightly colored, patterned leaves in shades of red, pink, yellow, and green. Fast-growing and ideal for containers or garden borders.

We typically grow Coleus in plant form in 7″ and 8″ clay pots

Characteristics:

Fast-growing, tender perennial prized for its vibrant, multicolored foliage in shades of red, pink, green, yellow, and purple; it has a bushy, upright or trailing habit, is easy to grow and propagate, and thrives in bright, warm conditions

Light:

Indoor: Bright, indirect light or partial sun, with some morning or filtered sunlight

Water:

Indoor: Prefers consistently moist, well-draining soil, requiring regular watering but never soggy conditions—allow the top inch of soil to dry slightly between waterings

Outdoor: Keep soil evening moist 

Fertalizer:

Balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during the growing season to support continuous blooming

Common Pests/Issues:

Pests: Aphids, whiteflies, spider mites, and mealybugs

 
Diseases: Root rot, leaf spot, or powdery mildew

Additional Notes:

In northern climates, bring plants indoors to overwinter. Prune the plant after blooming. If you wish for it to grow into a small tree/topiary, simply remove the spent blooms and clean out any dead or diseased wood. For a hedge, sheer the plant to the size desired. Bonsai and topiary forms take more training, which should be started in infancy
