Mature Size:

Indoors: 2–3 feet tall × 2–3 wide

 

 

 

Growth Rate:

Slow to moderate grower

Optimum Temperature:

65-85 degrees Fahrenheit 

Characteristics:

A tough, low-maintenance tropical plant with glossy, dark green, pinnate leaves that grow from thick, tuberous rhizomes

Light:

Indoor: Bright, indirect light but tolerates low light

Water:

Indoor: Requires infrequent watering — allow the soil to dry completely between waterings

Outdoor: Keep soil evening moist 

Fertalizer:

Light feeder; apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 6–8 weeks during the growing season

Common Pests/Issues:

Pests: Mealybugs or scale

 
Diseases: Root rot

Additional Notes:

In northern climates, bring plants indoors to overwinter. Prune any dead or dying leaves and tissue from the plant before brining indoors. Observe over the next couple of weeks and treat with neem oil if pests are found to be present. Ensure plant gets enough light and is away from direct air flow/heat
