A drought-tolerant evergreen shrub with silvery foliage and purple blooms that appear after rain. Perfect for hot, dry climates.

We typically grow Texas Sage in topiary form in 5″ clay pots

Indoors: 4–6 feet tall × 4–6 feet wide

Moderate grower

Optimum Temperature:

70-95 degrees Fahrenheit 

Characteristics:

A hardy, evergreen shrub with silvery-gray foliage and purple to lavender blooms that appear after rain

Light:

Indoor: Requires full light (6–8 hours daily) for best color, density, and flowering

Water:

Indoor: Prefers dry, well-draining soil; overwatering leads to root rot

Outdoor: Keep soil evening moist 

Fertalizer:

Minimal feeding required; apply a light, balanced fertilizer once in spring

Pests: Generally pest resistant

Additional Notes:

In northern climates, bring plants indoors to overwinter. Prune the plant after blooming. If you wish for it to grow into a small tree/topiary, simply remove the spent blooms and clean out any dead or diseased wood. For a hedge, sheer the plant to the size desired. Bonsai and topiary forms take more training, which should be started in infancy
